Passengers on a United Airlines Flight headed to Shanghai were diverted to Alaska because of malfunctioning lavatories.

That became the first of many problems that led to a two-day delay on the tarmac.

The broken toilets were found about three hours after takeoff. The flight crew chose to go to the nearest available airport. Once they were in Alaska, the 262 passengers sat on the tarmac for half-a-day before being allowed off.

United gave the passengers hotel accommodations and meals. But, because of the late hour and an overwhelmed airport staff, it took hours for passengers to get their vouchers.

A second plane showed up the next day and passengers boarded around 3 pm, but a computer problem led to another wait on the tarmac. Eventually, at 8:30 pm, passengers were told the flight wouldn’t take off. A third plane showed up the next day and took off without a problem.

A statement from United said: “We sincerely apologize to our customers for the delays and are fully refunding their tickets. We are also actively reaching out to our customers to offer additional compensation.”

Eight Ferraris, three Mercedes-Benzes and a Lamborghini were involved in a 14-vehicle pileup on a Japanese freeway Sunday that could easily cost more than $1 million, the Daily Yomiuri reports.

Most of the luxury cars were traveling in a convoy to a gathering of sports car enthusiasts in nearby Hiroshima, the Associated Press reports.

The AP says the damage could easily top $1 million in a country where even a used Ferrari can fetch $100,000. The Japanese media put the bill as high as $3.8 million, AFP reports.

Ten people were hospitalized in the midmorning pileup on the Chugoku Expressway in Yamaguchi Prefecture, according to police.

Police say they believe one of the Ferraris tried to change lanes, hit the median barrier and spun across the freeway. The other cars crashed while trying to avoid hitting the first car, the newspaper says.

By the way, the AFP reports that a Toyota Prius was also banged up in the ordeal.

A tattoo artist in Dayton, OH is being sued after inking his ex-girlfriend’s back with what looks like a big pile of poo.

He was supposed to tattoo a scene from Narnia on his girlfriend’s back, but he found out she cheated on him, and decided to get even. He put a giant tattoo of a pile of excrement with flies buzzing around it over her entire back.

Before he started, he got her drunk and had her to sign a waiver that says the tattoo is ‘at the artist’s discretion.’

She claims he took advantage of her and has filed a $100,000 lawsuit against him.

After millions of dollars and many hours on E! leading up to their wedding, it’s over for newlyweds Kim Kardashian and Kris Humphries.

Kardashian will file for divorce today, TMZ reports, and will cite “irreconcilable differences.”

E! mogul Ryan Seacrest confirmed news of the split.

“Yes @kimkardashian is filing for divorce this morning,” he tweeted Monday.

Sources tell TMZ that the split stems from a difference in opinion on where the couple was planning to live.Humphries hopes to settle down in Minnesota, while Kardashian wants to stay in California near her family.

The pair began dating in December 2010 and their relationship was chronicled on “Keeping Up With The Kardashians,” with the season finale capturing Humphries’ romantic proposal.

And then came the wedding.

The news of the couple’s split comes just 72 days after their highly-publicized wedding, in which close to 500 of their closest friends, family and E! camera crews gathered in Montecito, Calif., on August 20 to watch the reality star marry the New Jersey Nets player.

But things haven’t been smooth sailing since their August nuptials. The couple has been busy filming a new season of “Kourtney & Kim Take New York,” and rumors have been swirling that all is not well in the Kardashian-Humphries household.

It’s also rumored that Kardashian had lunch with ex-boyfriend Reggie Bush over the weekend, which just add fuel to the fire.
